Transit riders can subscribe to alerts via SMS, email or both and personalize their routes/trains, stops/stations, schedule and language.
Choose How to Be Notified
When you sign up for SimplifyTransit Subscriptions we'll ask if you want to receive alerts via text/SMS, email, or both.
If you signed up with your email and choose to also get text alerts, we'll ask you for your phone number, and vice versa. You can change this at any time by clicking Settings in the the menu.
You'll also have the option to choose your language from any of the options your agency has configured. All of your alert texts/emails will be in this language, with the quality controlled by SimplifyTransit's Custom Transit Glossary. These languages are usually the ones that are relied upon by a large number of people who don't understand or speak English very well. Not every language will be available.
Create Your Alert Subscription
- Click the Create Subscription button on the Manage Alerts view
- Select the route or routes you use in your trip, including any transfers (this may be train numbers for commuter rail agencies). You will be notified whenever there's an alert applied to these routes.
- Select the stops or stations you use during your trip, in both directions and including any transfers. You will be notified whenever there's an alert applied to one of those stops or stations, but won't be notified about alerts affecting the stops and stations you don't use.
- Select the days and times of day you ride. You will only be notified about alerts that include these timeframes.
- Edit the Subscription Title to one you'll recognize, if you want, especially if you plan to create more than one subscription. These could be Work, School, or any other type of trip you take on transit.
- Review and click Save Subscription.
